Decentralizing Supply Chain Anti-Counterfeiting and Traceability Systems Using Blockchain Technology

An interesting research problem in the supply chain industry is evaluating and determining provenance of physical goods—demonstrating authenticity luxury goods such as bottled wine. However, many systems networks have been built implemented with centralized system architecture, relying on authorities or any form intermediary, leading to issues single-point processing, storage failure, which could be susceptible malicious modifications product records various potential attacks components by dishonest participant nodes traversing along chain. Blockchain technology has evolved from merely being a decentralized, distributed immutable ledger cryptocurrency transactions programmable interactive environment for building decentralized reliable applications addressing different use-cases existing problems world. In this research, chosen method proof-by-demonstration, Decentralized NFC-Enabled Anti-Counterfeiting System (dNAS) proposed developed, decentralizing legacy anti-counterfeiting supply-chain using facilitate trustworthy data retrieval, verification management, well strengthening capability product’s traceability qualities wine industry, capacity further extend whole. The dNAS utilizes blockchain network consensus protocol compatible concept enterprise blockchain, smart contracts file develop secure scientific-data tracking management platform records, providing compelling properties integrity luxurious goods, are recorded, verified validated automatically.
